  • Every incident is recorded, and the participant's safety comes first.
  • Reportable incidents (such as death, serious injury, abuse or neglect, unlawful sexual contact, and unauthorised restrictive practices) are reported to the NDIS Commission within 24 hours, or 5 business days where the rules allow.
  • Police are contacted for any suspected crime.
  • We learn from incidents and tell the people involved what we changed.

Restrictive practices

NDIS (Restrictive Practices and Behaviour Support) Rules 2018

  • We aim to reduce and eliminate restrictive practices.
  • A regulated restrictive practice is only used when it is in an approved behaviour support plan and authorised under state or territory law.

Multi-service and multi-provider policies

Working with other providers

  • Many participants use more than one provider. We coordinate with your other providers, support coordinator and plan manager when you ask us to.
  • We share a named contact person so everyone knows who to speak to.
  • We attend care team meetings when invited and agreed by you.

Consent to share information

  • We only share your information with other providers after you give written consent, saying who we can share with and what.
  • You can change or withdraw consent at any time.
  • We may share without consent only where the law requires it or to prevent serious harm.

Conflicts of interest

  • If we provide more than one support to you (for example support work and accommodation), we tell you in writing and make sure you can choose other providers.
  • Staff must declare any personal or financial interest.
  • We never pressure you to use only our services. See our conflict of interest policy.

Handover and transitions

  • When you start with us, move services or leave, we plan a safe handover with your consent so your support is not interrupted.
